Congratulations to this years cheerleaders who earned the Spirit Award and the football players who earned the Iron Man award. These awards are earned by the athletes for their dedication to the Hawks program by participating continuously in the program over the years. Additional awards are earned for each additional year at the Varsity level. We thank all of you and your families for the dedication that it takes to win this award.
Samantha Fee - 3rd year
Iron Man Awards
Nyle Elgert - 2nd year
Grant Henson - 2nd year
Congratulations go out to our Hawks Cheerleading Squads who had an awesome day at the 2015 MYFCC Super Cheer Event.
Individual team awards went to:
- JR. Freshman girls brought home the Medal for "Best Choreography"
- Freshman won 3rd place medals in round 1 and 2nd place medals in round 2
- Varsity won 3rd place medals in both round 1 and round 2
If that was not enough, our Hawks brought home the most coveted award of all the "MYFCC SPIRIT AWARD"
This prestigious honor is awarded to the Organization that has continuous displayed the best sportsmanship, spirit and class throughout the entire season. This is a tremendous compliment to our Hawks Cheerleaders and to our Organization as a whole.
Congratulations to the girls, coaches, and parents for your dedication and making everyone proud to be a Hawk!
This year brings some changes to the MYFCC. The Birmingham Patriots left the MYFCC, while we have accepted 2 new organizations into the league for 2015. Dearborn Youth Football brings three teams (Pioneers, Thunderbirds, and Tractors) as well as the Michigan Warriors joining this year.
This year the Hawks are using SignUpGenius for signing up for the required volunteer shifts. Each family is required to complete 4 shifts each season. Once you sign up for a shift, you are responsible for covering that shift if you cannot fulfill your commitment for some reason. Please notify your team director if you have any problems with your volunteer shifts.
Below are 2 links for the signup genius shifts. The first one is for our normal football season. The second one is for Super cheer. Super cheer is ideal for football parents that don't want to miss any of the football games. FYI - Super cheer is on Sunday October 25. There are no football games scheduled on that day.
Per the Hawks rulebook, parents who do not participate in mandatory volunteering will be charged a non-participation fee of $150.00 per child and will also pay for their child’s banquet ticket. The non-participation fee is designed to be a penalty, not an option. Parents who do not participate in volunteering and fundraising are not guaranteed enrollment with the Hawks in the future.
The Hawks cheer squads competed at the annual Super Cheer event on Sunday November 2nd at Oakland University.
All three teams performed under pressure and brought home medals!
- Varsity earned 3rd place medals for both their Round 1 and Round 2 performances
- JV earned 3rd place medals for their Round 1 performance
- Freshman earned 2nd place medals for their Round 1 performance
Congratulations to all the girls and their coaches on this impressive showing! Way to make the Hawks organization proud!
