Cheers and welcome to the Lakes Area Hawks Cheer page!!

The Lakes Area Hawks Youth Cheer program consists of both football sideline and competitive cheer.  Girls from ages 5-14 can participate.  The cheerleaders not only develop cheer skills, but the program amplifies all the values of the Lake Area Hawks and provides a foundation that enhances self-esteem, self-confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship and fitness. See the Hawks Organizational Mission statement for more details.

Every July, the Hawks host a mandatory “Cheer Camp” to kick of the season.  Practice officially begins the last week of July and the season runs through mid-November.

Practices are held at the Hawk House 2 to 3 days a week.

The Hawks also utilize professional training out of the Midwest Xplosion Cheer Gym in Commerce Township.

Individual coaches will provide practice schedules, but practices are generally 1 ½ to 2 hours long, with shorter practices on Fridays once games begin.

Football Games begin in the middle of August. The game season consists of 8 games held on Saturdays or Sundays with the possibility of playoffs games after the regular season. All cheer squads will sideline cheer for both home and away games; please visit the  "Maps" section for travel possibilities. Since 2014, the Hawks have played regular season games at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, giving our girls the opportunity to cheer in the Big House!

Super Cheer is our season end Competition and takes place the last weekend in October.  Super Cheer is a big part of our season and the opportunity for the cheerleaders to shine; Super Cheer is our Super Bowl!
